Is it legal to alter Twitter Brand assets?

Hi there,

I am confused if I am asking this at the right place or not. I am a Blogger and I am preparing some data and information to contribute to a reputed and popular business news website. I would really appreciate if any of you can help me with the following questions:

1. “Twitter brand assets and guidelines” states use of altered Twitter logos and other stuff are not allowed. But I still find many sites and Applications using altered versions of the Twitter logo and other assets. Is that allowed? If not what actions are taken to control this?

2. Is altering of Twitter brand assets considered illegal?

You’re looking at the right documentation - we would request that you follow the brand policy for use of any of our logos and artwork. Please do not alter them.
