[iOS Only Bug] Scrolling with Quick Reply Options Causes Them To Disappear Forever

This is still occurring and still only on iOS devices – users who scroll to read a long prompt message are treated to the quick reply messages vanishing to never return making it very hard to continue interacting with a bot.

We’ve been trying to come up with ways for users to trigger the same menu/set of quick reply options again but nothing has been smooth enough or many enough sense for users to actually do. What we’ve had to rely on is telling users to not scroll.

Is there an ETA on when this might be fixed? I’ve never seen it occur on Android or any browser version of twitter.

Are you able to pull up the quick reply options when you click on the hamburger menu icon in the bottom right-hand corner?

I gotta say that is super unintuitive for users to grasp.

We’ve had dozens (almost 100 now) people complain about this issue and no one mentioned they could do this. Thanks for letting us know!

I agree that it isn’t the most intuitive action. I have kicked off a conversation internally about this to see if we can improve the user experience.

Found another wrinkle to this bug – if the options have been hidden and placed into that hamburger menu and you task switch out for a second and go back into the app the hamburger menu is gone and you’re basically out of luck.

I’m actually having a tough time reproducing this. Can you please describe what you mean when you say ‘task switch out for a second and go back into the app’.

Do you mean navigating to another app?

Yeah. I repo’d it by double pressing the home button on an iOS device – switched I think gmail for a few seconds then double pressed the home button to go back to the twitter app – the hamburger menu was then gone.

I will continue to try to repro, but several of us in the office haven’t been able to thus far. If you could send a video screengrab, that would help immensely.
