Hi I’m Kelly Bell, and I run a little Drupal-focused freelance collab called Gotham City Drupal (http://gothamcitydrupal.com), and though we’re based in NYC, we’re really all over the country. We’re all developers, work in code every day, no division of labor - we’re organized for support, to help keep the pipeline full and to get out of the client ghetto single developers often find themselves in due to limited backup / ability to work on larger projects. If you’re a kick-ass freelance Drupalist, drop me a line!
I’m working with some small Twitter integration stuff with Drupal sites, but nothing fancy - my head has been buried in Drupal for a long time and most of my personal integration work has been CiviCRM, Ubercart, Salesforce, PHPLive, a little FB, etc. The current Twitter contrib modules for Drupal have worked fine for me up until very recently with this little custom thing, so I’m a Twitter API n00b.
I just launched the Campaign for Liberty site http://campaignforliberty.org a couple weeks ago with the peerless Drupalist Mike Pirog. Other sites are http://makemineamillion.org, http://bulldogsolutions.com and others.
I’m a rabid proponent of the awesome new game-changing Drupal developer environment Pantheon (http://getpantheon.com). It rocks my world, and as a beta tester since the beginning I can only rave like a crazy person about how much I love these people - they’re doing the exact right thing at the exact right time. Word. If you build Drupal sites, check them out.
What I do when I’m not coding: I’m a musician - excellent bass and crappy guitar - write songs, then sing them. Had an actual career with my band for a few years, but no more. I live in Bushwick (Brooklyn), which has a great music scene, so I spend most of my free time going to see awesome underground bands from BK - Phone Tag, Kosovo, Love like Deloreans, Twin Shadow, Light Asylum, Friends, Electric Tickle Machine, etc.etc. I <3 NY.
Personally, as opposed to professionally, I love Twitter and use it all the time - it’s become my fave learning-new-things tool. I’ve had a personal Twitter account since 2007 - the business is young so the GothamDrupal account is much newer. I use Twitter to keep up with everything I care about - coding, Drupal, music, knitting, science (esp. QM), art, etc. It’s actually made it much easier for me to find news and information about my passions.
Favorite bird: the Gryphon (mythical, and only part bird, but that’s ok - and my eldest son’s namesake).
