Image not showing in Twitter Card

I’m aware that this is a recurring thread so apologies for opening a new one!

We have a site with a embedded twitter timeline. They regularly tweet URLs of their site and most times the image does not display. The client runs the URL through the card validator and it also doesn’t show the image (the URL is said to be whitelisted). Aftre running the validator a few times, however, the image does display and indeed some images do display in their timeline so I don’t think it’s a site config issue or they would never display, surely?

That page does not have any twitter:image or og:image markup in it so there’s no way for the cards service to know what image to render.
