I can't get MOPUB to read my app's user's texts

I’m trying to work on a text app and install MOPUB SDK:

"You can pass keywords from your app to MoPub as a comma-separated list in the ad view. They should be in the format of key value pairs (e.g. m_age:24). You can use any characters except for “&” and “=”.

MPAdView *adView
= [[MPAdView alloc] initWithAdUnitId:@“AD_UNIT_ID” size:MOPUB_BANNER_SIZE];
adView.delegate = self;
adView.keywords = @“m_age:24,m_gender:m,m_marital:single”;
[adView loadAd];
https://github.com/mopub/mopub-ios-sdk/wiki/Data-Passing"

So I want my text app to read my user’s texts, pick up the MOPUB keywords dynamically, send them back to MOPUB but I don’t think it’s working right. I read your post: https://dev.twitter.com/mopub/ios/data-passing I can get the action to fetch within my app page but not within the actual texts, HELP!!

I’m confused. I’m a novice app builder so maybe I’m just missing how it works.It appears from the code above that it would work both within my app forum page and the user’s texts. So when my users are texting their friends, and their friends are texting back, the words in the text that match the MOPUB’s list of keywords, capture them in real time, record it, ie your age/gender, and then those keywords would be sent to MOPUB to send advertising back to match those keywords. This is how it is working on my app’s forum. Is there something inside the texts that would be stopping it?

Need help!,
Confused mediaguy!
