HTTP 500 - Internal error code 131 account/verify_credentials.json

#1

Running Twitter’s generated cURL command for one of my apps, which in theory should definitely work.

I get:

{“errors”:[{“message”:“Internal error”,“code”:131}]}

It should be returning a JSON object with the authorised user’s details.

Am I doing something wrong or is there something happening with the API at the moment?

#2

If you’re getting a HTTP 500, it usually means something is amiss with the API. Are you able to request any other methods?

#3

Getting same error on search and user_timeline but both works fine on https://dev.twitter.com/console

#4

Same problem for me.

#5

Nope, tried /statuses/mentions_timeline.json and /statuses/home_timeline.json and get the same error.

Like @martinellifrank, it seems to work on https://dev.twitter.com/console but not when trying via the cURL command generated by twitter’s OAuth tool for the apps.

#6

I’m getting a 500 error also is the service up?

#7

The service is indeed up. I have our operations team looking into the reports of spurious HTTP 500s some applications are seeing. It’s not affecting all applications and it’s not yet clear why the errors are happening.

#8

Using the API using VSE2012, getting “Additional information: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.” whichever method I try.

Follow this issue as we work toward resolving it:

#10

I’m getting the same error but on a https://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline.json request.

Statuscode: 500 Internal Server Error
{“errors”:[{“message”:“Internal error”,“code”:131}]}

Do you receive this for all statuses/user_timeline requests or just for specific users? If for specific users, can you share the screen name or user ids? Can you share the querystring for your request and the library you’re using to connect?
