Description of issue:
I have an old Tweet which contains a link to my website. I added all the necessery meta tags to my site and checked that everything worked with the Twitter Card Validator. If i post a new Tweet containing the link, everything works fine and the Card is displayed. But on an old Tweet containing the exact same link it doesn’t. How can i fix this? Do i just have to wait for it to get added to all Tweets containing the link or do i have to query an API to reload some cache?
Thanks in advance,
Maxi :grinning:

I’m not 100% sure on how this will work for very old Tweets, but generally yes, it’s a matter of caches catching up. If the card is working as expected on new Tweets, then you’re all set for now.

@andypiper 4 Days later the card still isn’t showing up. Does it take this long for all caches to refresh?

As I mentioned before, I really don’t know the answer here. If the exact same URLs were shared in “old” Tweets then I’d perhaps expect their embeds to refresh by now, but if the end URLs or shortened links are different, I’m not sure. I don’t have an exact answer here, sorry. If the links render cards now, that’s the best on offer.

What do you mean by “an old Tweet” please - can you provide a specific Tweet ID? I’m not aware that “old” Tweets have ever specifically been refreshed by the cards technology.
