How to show just one, the latest, tweet?

I am using the embed code to put up a box showing the “timeline” on my web site. It has height 200px, and tweets can be scrolled (even with noscrollbar).

Is it possible to configure it to show just one and only one, the latest, tweet from my account, and have the height resized accordingly to accommodate just that one tweet?

Yes, you can configure this using attributes on the embed code. See the embedded timelines reference documentation and set data-tweet-limit to 1.
