Starting to tingle with excitement if this is coming… please update us when its available. …

in this time twitter devs needs to implement the email field into the API, I would have completly rebuilt twitter by myself… :stuck_out_tongue:

It is already implemented, I just have not had time to document the process of requesting it due to #twitterflock etc. I am working on it!

I was joking, you know? :stuck_out_tongue: …just do your work and inform us as soon as it is done… g

Will this allow us access through the REST API or just flock?

Cheers!

@andypiper: Thank god, at last it done!

@andypiper Hi Andy. Any update on getting the email api call deployed? Please let me know, we are waiting here to implement.

@andypiper Keep waiting, thanks!!!

@andypiper definitely would be cool to see this but take it easy. Thanks and peace :sunny:

@andypiper Any chance you can just post some quick “unofficial” documentation here for those of us already familiar with OAuth workflows?

@andypiper Hate to be a pest, but we don’t seem to be moving forward on this, can you communicate any progress? I have a large user base that I need to notify of the situation, thanks.

So, email won’t be simply available in the OAuth response with other data?

@andypiper Any news on the documentation yet? If it’s already implemented, how do we get hold of the info or documentation? A link on this thread would be very helpful to developers looking for this long overdue solution.

No - once a user is logged in, a call to the verify account endpoint will return an email address if the account has a verified address associated with the account, and if the application token has permission to request it.

again, huge apologies for the delay while we’ve been out running events. The team is actively working on getting this information out for you all.

It is indeed already implemented; we haven’t had a chance to get the web docs updated fully. The general process is the same as for Fabric apps i.e. you apply for your application key to gain access to the elevated privilege of requesting email; we review your app and grant access; you add a couple of details to your app via the dashboard on apps.twitter.com; and then you can grab an email address on the verify endpoint.

Good news! How do I apply for the elevated privilege?

Totally good news, but I didn’t see any button or link to apply for the application key
