Thanks for this feedback. We do hear it regularly and understand the request. At the moment there are no plans to change this, as it helps us to reduce the number of spammy and other bad actor apps that want to access the platform. We will continue to review the requirement.

I’ve added my mobile number to my Twitter account as required yet somehow it continues to display an error after I submit my application. I’m trying to have it allow people to login to my website using Twitter, but it just won’t see that I have added my number.
Any ideas?

We’ve posted an announcement about this issue. There’s currently a latency between adding a number, and creating an app.
If for any reason you are unable to add a mobile number at all, we have a support form that you can complete for assistance.
