How is a publisher id tagged/associated with a site in twitter card?

Could you please explain how the publisher id of a twitter account is mapped with a site in twitter card?
The issue i see is: In our site’s (http://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-band/en-us) twitter meta tags, we haven’t specified any publisher/account details anywhere. But, the twitter card validator shows Microsoft Surface logo/header. Please help me understand how a publisher account is mapped with the site?

Hi @webdevazure

The attribution will default to the account used when the domain was first whitelisted.
You can override this by adding the twitter:site tag and specify the account you want to give attribution to.
