I keep recieving emails from Linked In and when I try to access Linked In they tell me that no account is set up for that email account. They have obviously got my email address from somewhere. I can’t find anything in Twitter settings etc to deactivate anything to do with Linked In.
Your problem is apparently not related to the developer forums. Please refer to twitter support. (@support, http://support.twitter.com)
And do not forget to provide them with the content of a sample email that describes what is going on.
