Hi there. It may take a couple attempts, but it’ll show your card and a submit button.

BTW, you’ll need to change your twitter:creator tag to a real username:

I’m having no luck at all! Cannot validate my twitter card.
Can get a preview - this is the meta stuff…:

But when I try and validate it I just get the invalid card type. Have tried with backslash at the end and without.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi Rosanna, our validator will fail if you use tags with empty values. If they are not going to be used, leave them out altogether.

And an image URL is required for the summary with large image card, so you will need to fill in your twitter:image:src tag for the card to render. Do not forget to keep in mind that this image should be at least 280px in width, at least 150px in height, and less than 1MB in size.

So I believe everything should work fine once your code looks something like this:

Hi Dimitar, I cannot see any cards metadata markup (meta name=“twitter:…”) tags in your page source, so the page doesn’t validate for me. Did you think you’d added the tags?

I have a similar problem where I get the “Invalid card type.” error.

I’m using Google Tag Manager to push the meta tags into my product pages.

For example on this page, http://www.framesdirect.com/framesfp/Ray-Ban_RX-tdsjod/r.html, developer tools or firebug show the correct meta data added. If this is a problem with the tag manager implementation, is there a way to do this via GTM?

I think I figured it out. I’m using Google Tag Manager to push those into my product pages but found somewhere that Twitter only reads the page HTML versus anything inserted via JS. So, I’ll have to push this during a code update.

Unfortunately the cards crawler cannot execute any Javascript and requires that the tags sit in the header of the page. You may need to find an alternative solution.

If you view this page you can see that obviously Tag Manager acts externally and execute a script that writes twitter card’s meta tags within the /head/ tag of that page. So… why the validator can’t see them?

I just loaded that page in a browser, and I don’t see the twitter:card markup. I also pulled the page via curl -A Twitterbot and also don’t see that markup. GTM appears to sit inside the body of the page, so the browser would need to execute that script. Twitterbot (our crawler) cannot run Javascript. I’m not sure how you would make this work.

I navigate within a private window and I can see as in the attached image. What’s wrong then?
Moreover, you probably saw JUST THE SECOND PART of the Tag Manager script within the /body/ tag. Implementation instructions now, or better since a few months, say to do that.
