Get Tweet timelines API return more than the limit

Hello Twitter
we are using the Get Tweet timelines API : Overview | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform

from the API documentation This method can only return up to 3,200 of a user’s most recent Tweets.
for some reason some times we receive more than 3200 tweets (much bigger)
is there any reason for that?
should i use other API to get tweets ids ?
