Follow Button javascript won't activate

I have a great deal of javascript on my website but the Follow Button script given by Twitter won’t activate. The anchor works and I can set it to link to my twitter account, but only the link incorporated into that anchor appears on my site. The actual button designed by Twitter does not appear. Any suggestions?

Problem solved: the executing correctly javascrip I refer to executes locally on a client computer. The Follow Button javascript executes in relation to a server. Thus the graphic appears correctly when the page is served.
