Hello,

On the deprecated user stream API, I was receiving favorite events even for accounts for which the setting “protected tweets” was enabled. With the new User Activity API, I do not get the favorite event on this type of account.

Is this a bug or normal behavior? This was useful for my application workflow.

Thank you

We will deliver favorite events for users you have active subscriptions for, but we will not deliver private events from followers. I am unclear on which favorite types you are referring to.

Sorry I was not clear.

I’m referring to favorite events from users I have active subscriptions for but which have enabled the “protect your tweets” setting. Like this :Capture

This settings didn’t have any effect on the delivery of the favorite event on “user streams” but now on “account activity webhoooks” if this setting is enabled no favorite event is sent.

Do you have some news on this ?

Sorry for the delay.

Are you talking about when a user favorites the Tweet posted by a user that you are subscribed to, or when the user that you are subscribed to favorites someone else’s Tweet.

Hello,

I am talking about when a user i am subscribed to favorites a tweet of someone else.

If a user Favorites a Tweet published by a user that you are subscribed to while that subscribed user is private, we WILL deliver that activity to you via the Account Activity API.

If your subscribed user is private and Favorites another Tweet, we WILL NOT deliver that activity to you via the Account Activity API.

If your subscribed user is NOT private, any Favorites of their Tweets or their Favorites of other Tweets will deliver via the Account Activity API.

Why not deliver it? it was delivered on the old User Stream API. I totally understand that private tweets should not be delivered because they are private. But favorite activity on public tweets should be delivered even if the favorite action was made by a private user. Sorry but that doesn’t make sense to me to keep this kind of activity private for users that authorized our app…

I completely understand where you are coming from with this confusion.

I have discussed this with our product team and they are looking into it. More to come.
