Hello, I’ve never had any issues with Twitter cards and my website until today when suddenly they’re not rendering and I’m getting this error: ‘Failed to fetch page due to: HttpConnectionTimeout’. I moved to a new domain last week but it’s a starter managed Wordpress site and it was a straightforward lift and shift job. I’m not a coder so I don’t/didn’t make any manual changes to the site’s code (and I don’t know how to do it so please don’t suggest that).
Could be unrelated but I added a new plugin yesterday - JM Twitter Cards - because I was having problems getting the correct information on a Twitter card for a static page. I’ve since deleted it in case that was the issue.
Example URL: Lanna food: the flavours of northern Thailand | The Determined Traveller (As mentioned, this is just one of many pages).
Troubleshooting: I’ve ensured All In One SEO is enabled for Twitter cards. I’ve checked the source code of my posts and can see that the meta tags are in place. All the Open Graph info is in place in each blog post. I spoke to GoDaddy and they aren’t aware of any issues their end. I’ve cleared my cache. GoDaddy have checked my SSL configuration and confirmed that it’s ok.
Please help - I use Twitter a lot for my business and this is holding things up for me. Many thanks.
Hello! I’ve checked the url that you provided in the validator and it seems that it’s working. Do you still have issues?
Morning, thanks for checking. Unfortunately it’s still not working for me (same error). What’s more, I’ve now noticed that old links to my site on Twitter are missing the cards. They were (are) all set up for a large summary card.
I’m not seeing an issue with this URL in the cards validator.
