Excluding particular hashtags with the Streaming API

I was wondering if there was a way to exclude particular hashtags in the Streaming API. There is obviously an option to track hashtags, but is there the opposite of this?

Doing the filtering programmatically on my end just adds extra load onto my app!

Wondering if you ever figured this out? Trying to do the same for a project and haven’t found any solutions yet. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing built-in to the Streaming API to enable you to exclude hashtags, no.

Nothing to tell you about this right now, sorry. Stay tuned to the forums and @twitterapi for updates, but I’m not aware of any current plans.
