Evolution of Twitter rules over time

Hi guys, as there’s a LOT of discussion on the automation topic lately, namely the “posting the same content on multiple Twitter accounts you own” and “posting duplicate content on the same Twitter account”, I was wondering if you could tell us when the rules (https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/twitter-rules) and the automation rules (https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/twitter-automation) have been around in their current state.

I think the market and operators on this market would need clarity about these rule if they have to help you enforce them, especially since when these rules are in existence. It seems nobody had any idea these rules existed (both end users and developers).

I used wayback machine to find out but couldn’t find any snapshot of these pages prior to November 5.

Thanks for giving us a little more context and history here, that would help a lot.

Replying to my own question as I’ve found the answer

These rules have actually always been there (since at least July 2010 which is the further I could go to using wayback machine).
