I get the error message mentioned in the title from time to time and do not know why.

It happens for a self-written app. Two weeks ago I had no problems and everything worked fine. But since last week I get an access that contains the information “expires:” “Tue, 31 Mar 1981 05:00:00 GMT”.

In february, I had this problem too but no time to search a solution. So I did not change anything but it work again two weeks ago (as said).

It makes no sense for me and the fact that @twitterapi, @support, @TwitterDev and @twitter makes me wonder why? Not even a “we look into it” to tell your users that you noticed their problems?

Regenerating the API keys or creating a new applications does not solve the problem! How could that be?

I’m getting the same issue. There is another thread for the same issue, but the solution is for PHP. I’m using JavaScript. Were you ever able to resolve the issue. I created a new application, and even that didn’t work.
