Hi there,
We’ve all of a sudden started receiving this error for new users attempting to authenticate with our application.
Error message: “This application cannot authenticate more users at this time”
Application ID: 7283105
I do know that our application was in the process of being approved with Twitter Ads API access - would having this approved apply a user limit to our application? We are currently sitting at about 250 users connected with our app. I’m trying to find the documentation but it’s a bit tricky navigating the Developer docs.
If there is a user limit applied, do we need to apply for increased access to have this increased? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
FYI we have a number of enterprise clients attempting to authenticate their accounts to run advertising campaigns, so if this could be addressed with urgency that would be great.
Thanks!
Once you are approved for Ads API access, your app starts off with Basic access, with a limited number of OAuth tokens. You need to go through a couple of review gates to reach Standard access. This is described in the Ads API overview page.
The Ads API team should be able to help with this by removing the Ads API basic access from your production app and moving it to a test app while you scale through the tiers.

Hi @andypiper , thanks for the quick reply!
Do you know if there is a way to understand what level of access an account has? Either via the Web interface or the API?
We’re more than happy to begin the application process for Standard access (FYI we’ve had this approved on a second application however we’re in the process of merging the two), but in the meantime are you able to help us remove the basic access (and the user auth limit) from our account?
Anything to allow our users wishing to use our customer service product to integrate their Twitter accounts will be a huge win right now!
Also, do you know how long it takes to have Standard access approved provided our application is sufficient? I.e. a few days or is it more like weeks?
Thanks!
Hi @m4ttmolloy,
I’ve removed your Ads API access for the time being - please go ahead and let me know a new app for your development stage, and once you’ve completed your MVP, we can transfer access to your original app.
You can move over to Standard access as quickly as you’d like. We just need to see a demo of your build and 2 testimonials from your clients on why they like to use your platform for their Twitter Ads needs. The link to book a demo meeting is https://twitteradsapi.as.me/schedule.php.
Best,
Carmen

Thanks Carmen - I’ve just replied to your email with more detail.
Hi Carmen,
We’re having the same issue with AppID 3750870. Can you disable ads API access and we’ll setup a dev app to build out our MVP.
@divide_conquer7 - you are all set!
