Using yoast, a number of posts aren’t showing as Twitter cards, just the link and description

The error message would imply that you don’t have a twitter:description property correctly completed. Can you provide a link to a URL which demonstrates this error?

I am not getting this issue when i use Post permalink in validator for the same page.

The closing </meta> is redundant and not needed. You need to change twitter:image:src to twitter:image and put a fully-qualified accessible DNS URL to an image in the content. You also need to include a twitter:description tag. This is all covered in the Summary Large Image card documentation.
