Hi!

I am getting this error when try to validate card:

“ERROR: Fetching the page failed because http page format is invalid.”

Here’s an example URL http://www.qanatak.com/video/15

It has these meta’s in the head

            <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
            <meta name="twitter:site" content="">
            <meta name="twitter:creator" content="">
            <meta name="twitter:image:alt" content="">

	<meta property="og:site_name" content="">
	<meta property="og:title" content="">
	<meta property="og:url" content="">
	<meta property="og:type" content="video">
	<meta property="og:image" content="">
            <meta property="og:image:url" content="">
	<meta property="og:description" content="">

	<meta property="video:tag" content="">

Where is the twitter:card tag?

#3

Hi Andy, thank for the reply

Sorry, these tags are just above those others

    <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary">
    <meta name="twitter:site" content="@Qanatakweb">
    <meta name="twitter:creator" content="@Qanatakweb">
    <meta name="twitter:image:alt" content="QANATAK">

<meta property="og:site_name" content="">
<meta property="og:title" content="">
<meta property="og:url" content="">
<meta property="og:type" content="video">
<meta property="og:image" content="">
    <meta property="og:image:url" content="">
<meta property="og:description" content="">

<meta property="video:tag" content="">

#4

ah sorry, I see them now (and edited your original post to show them)

Just checked in the w3c validator and it seems like you have some issues in the page that may be causing the Cards crawler not to be able to parse it -> https://validator.w3.org/nu/?showsource=yes&showoutline=yes&doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.qanatak.com%2Fvideo%2F15

Thanks Andy…

Not sure whats going on as I use cards on a many other sites and have never had a problem… while this site is fine on Facebook, Google+ etc, its just Twitters Cards where it has a problem…

#7

Sorry about that - I guess the parser we are using is maybe more strict than others.

#8

Sorry, I did not notice this comment…

I’ll check through them and let you know

#9

Have worked thought all the errors and removed them

https://validator.w3.org/nu/?showsource=yes&showoutline=yes&doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.qanatak.com%2Fvideo%2F17

There is still one Error left

IO Error: Corrupt GZIP trailer

This is a strange one because I have made sure GZIP is turned off in cPanel, WHM and also not in the .htcaccess file… but its in the headers…

Even this tool says that GZIP is not being used “http://checkgzipcompression.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.qanatak.com

I have also turned on GZIP but still get the same validation error and Twitter cards error
"Unable to render Card preview"
ERROR: Fetching the page failed because other errors.

Yes, I’m seeing something like CompressionException: incorrect CRC32 checksum so I am not sure what is going on with your site, sorry.

#11

Hi Andy,

Where are you seeing this CompressionException: incorrect CRC32 checksum message?

#12

That’s on an internal debugging tool, but it aligns with your comment about gzip.

#13

Thanks for all your help Andy.

IN the end I have had to turn off GZIP so that it validates, and this allows it too work with the twitter cards…

I have another problem with the image not showing but i’ll try to figure it out or raise another post

Thanks again Andy
