I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
I barely tweet. I tweet about 5-12 times a month, and I got that message.
I don’t tweet from my app. I logged out from my phone app.
I changed my password & email address for logging in.
Twitter’s Help Center Support is VERY unhelpful for this problem.
How can this be fixed. IT’S BEEN 6 DAYS, & STILL NOT ALLOWING ME TO TWEET!

I’ve been having this problem for about two weeks now. I have changed my password many times, sometimes two times a day, just to be able to tweet. I can see and received notification from the Twitter App but does not let me Tweet, RT o mark as favorite.

This problem has been occurring with me for the past month.
I do not send out very many tweets but at this time I cannot send out tweets through my eBay lots.
I cannot tweet directly on the twitter site with eBay lot links I copy and paste either.

The new filter system installed to stop spammers appears flawed or too strong.
Sorry if the truth hurts. This post has been revised for complainers.

Problem is fixed for me now because I directly contacted support on it and once again changed my password.
Don’t know how long it will last though.

It’s happening to me since 5 minutes ago. They sent me a code to my mobile phone to check it’s me, but it has not worked. I have tried changing my password and nothing.

I’m not even a dev and I just got this error message. I don’t have any app or twitch connected to my account. Changed my password and email connected to my account, deleted cookies, history, rebooted, stood on one foot and ate peanut butter right out of the jar and still nothing is working.

Same story here, just a casual twitter user not able to log in, verified my phone number several times, changed my password but it still says “This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later.”

I’m not a dev either and I got this message also. Don’t have an app just trying to post a tweet from Twitter natively! Tried changing my password and email address and verified ID via text 5 times and still nothing. Now my account is locked and I can’t unlock it because ‘you’ve attempted too many times’… what is going on???

Does @Support at @Twitter belong to this community and read these messages? I have the same issue and I am no spammer. This is the first time I have received this message and I am online all day. Nobody has ever said that I am spamming them, so what’s up?

Looks like twitter is blowing up for lots of people. Glad i’m not the only one whose been locked out. ~_~

I logged out and back in and was able to send a message to @Support. Note that I use Two Factor authentication, and it is hard for my account to get taken over by another party.

Same Message ( this request looks like it might be automated
) started happening to me this evening (Feb 10 2015) … I am able to Tweet as long as I don’t have URLs or Hashtags in message. Yeah! Thinking the same meself , might as well be using Facebook Messenger … please fix this.

Ok, I relogged again and now I’m back in. No trouble for at least 4 minutes now.
