Empty results for specific user query (from:[username])

Users of my app have been complaining about not being receiving tweets from some specific user (@SydneyPogoMap). In fact the query from:SydneyPogoMap doesn’t work neither in the web search (https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&q=from%3ASydneyPogoMap&src=typd)

That account is very active, so he has enough recent tweets to be shown.

What could be causing this and what can be done to fix it?

Not all users, hashtags, URLs, or terms will appear in search, for a variety of reasons (for instance, including being reported for spam, or for user safety). We’re not able to comment on individual cases. This is most likely to be the reason in this case.

Thanks for the fast answer. Is there a way to know wether the account is hidden from search se we can inform ours users correctly?

No, in the same way that you cannot find out who muted or blocked an account via the API, there are privacy (and abuse) issues with exposing that data directly in the platform, so this is just a “best guess” in a situation like that.
