Empty json reply after updating status

why do i get empty json reply after updating status ?

i often got json reply like this when i update my twitter status using the API
[[" "]]

what does this mean?
is this success or failure to update status?

Does this happen with the same access token/user account consistently? (Are you representing more than one user and seeing the issue across multiple users?)

This may be a caching issue with a particular account. Can you list some example accounts you’re having trouble fetching mention timelines for?
