Some embedded tweets when loaded into Internet Explorer 11 load VERY slow while most load quickly.

Here are 2 examples:

Here is a link to 2 HTML files to demonstrate:

Just open each .HTM file in Internet Explorer 11 and one will ALWAYS load fast and the other will most of the time load very slow.

Other Observations:

  • Once a slow embedded tweet is loaded into Internet Explorer 11 subsequent reloads of the tweet typically occur fast, though there is some randomness to this.

  • If the slow tweet example HTM file loads quickly wait 30 seconds and try it again and soon you will observe it load slow.

  • Fast loading embedded tweets ALWAYS load fast. No randomness there.

I can supply more examples of the slow loading tweets if that would be helpful - just let me know.

Some more details:

  • The iframe code injected looks the same for both samples provided so seemingly a widget issue.
  • The 15+ second delay locks up the application completely.

unfortunately this is unlikely to be fixed given that IE 11 support is ending soon:

Ah, thanks for the heads-up. Any idea where I might find a sample of this fallback markup? Ending support for IE might actually fix the problem. :grinning:

I wonder too if it’s possible to obtain the URL to the video and then just display the video in a custom iframe …
