Every Time I try to access the widget I get this error I’m not sure why it’s just my Artist account I tried it under my account and was able to access it this is the error I get when I try to add the widget from her account I’m using google chrome. please advise I need to get this up and running on her website.
Something is technically wrong.

I’m having similar problems to those listed… building my site on Weebly and all I get is the tweets by @dheadsnet link… no timeline.

It happens consistently on Chrome 21.0.1180.89, Firefox 14.0.1, and IE9, however, it acts normal on IE8. The page is http://www.ipevo.com/p2v and you will find the widget on the right hand side.

I can see that many users are reporting the problem that only " tweets by @user " appears on the website
well, i am a blogger user and I also have this problem, I just wish to know when this is solved

Thanks for your answer, but javascript on my page is correct. I try widget on more pages, because I need 100% working for website www.appliste.cz. For exmaple: On http://testappliste.blogspot.de/2012/09/iphone-5-bude-mit-jiny-blesk.html is widget “Appliste” and not working. In Domain box I put “testappliste.blogspot.de”. What is wrong? Thank you.

Hi Adrian.

Since the tag is itself inserted by executing an inline script, it already behaves as if it were marked as async, and will not block the rendering of your page. This is the difference between Parser-Inserted and Script-Inserted scripts, which Chris Coyier does a nice job of summarising in his article here on CSS Tricks: http://css-tricks.com/thinking-async/

So is there going to be a way to create widgets for other users via the API so that a user of our site can easily add a timeline to their profile on our site? We have been using the old Profile widget (TWTR.Widget) to allow users to add their twitter timeline to their profiles, but it sounds like you are going to deprecate this? We tried using the API to create our own widget for embedding tweets but we hit the rate-limit easily with a lot of users.

My page at http://www.aua.ac.uk/ is just showing a link even though www.aua.ac.uk is whitelisted.

I can’t even get the code, every time I try to create a new widget I get an error page. I’ve been trying since Wednesday. I’ve used multiple browsers and computers and I still get the same Twitter error page.

I think I almost went insane trying to figure this out!
I was trying to embed the timeline on a google sites account, and the only thing showing up was “Tweets from @Username”

So, here’s what I did:

Save that file as an xml (filename.xml)
Upload to the public folder in DropBox and copy the public link.
In the google sites page editor go to Insert -> More Gadgets -> Add Gadget by URL
Paste in the link from DropBox and Save the gadget and then save the page.
You can also upload the xml to your google sites account, and copy the download location (remove the redirect after the address when pasting though)

In Chrome, reload the page (it will still only display Tweets from @Username).
Right click the page, and select Inspect Element.
Make sure Elements is the selected Tab in the window.
Click on the little red x or yellow triangle in the bottom right corner.
One of the error messages will say something along the lines of
u2q5iu512olfq8r8lm04j7a05653tri0-a-sites-opensocial.googleusercontent.com is not whitelisted on this domain
Copy that address, and paste it into the Domains section of the widget editor on Twitter.
Save the widget, and refresh the Google sites page.

I made the mistake of just listing sites.google.com in the domains section!
Hopefully this will help some of you getting the same error (I’m assuming it’ll work to find the url that needs to be whitelisted on any site, not just Google Sites!)
