When I view source on your site I noticed your a href tag is missing the data-widget-id attribute. You may want to grab the widget code from twitter again since that part is missing.

Is it possible to create an external form that could generate an Embedded Timeline?

I ask because with the REST API Search changes coming in v1.1 our Twitter feed widget we provide clients will pretty much be rendered useless. Embedded Timelines seem like the way to go for what we are trying to accomplish, but having to create/edit them within Twitter rather than our platform is a problem.

I can’t see my own posts on a twitter timeline. I want to be able to see ALL posts in the embedded timeline of the community site http://saveburnagelibrary.blogspot.co.uk site using a hashtag search #saveburnagelibrary, but I can’t see my own, nor any account that I set up. Though others referencing the hashtag appear perfectly fine.

Not using protected tweets, not filtering on sensitive info etc. and out of the box, using the widget preview, it shows fine, but on the site itself, it doesn’t work. What am I missing?

Seemingly I can, I assume because of keywords or something, but that means I can’t adequately describe the problem.

I have a community site to save a library. Hashtag search on an embedded tweets widget (using the widgets dot js file). I preview it and it shows all tweets fine. However, on the main blogspot blog, It doesn’t show my own tweets referencing the hashtag, nor of any account I create, but other twitter users referencing the hastag show up on the blog without any issue at all. So it’s just me.

I am not using protected tweets and don’t sensitive data is unchecked. What am I missing?

I am using Adobe dreamweaver and when I create my timeline on a completely blank page and preview, my timeline works perfect. Now when I try and insert it into my website and preview, the only thing displayed is the top header of the twitter widget saying, “Tweets” and then a button to the right to follow the account. None of the posted data and scroll bar is displayed. Why would this change depending on if there is other content on the page.

If I’m embedding the twitter in a textwidget on a wordpress site, where should i put your script. I want the size to be 80px and i found out the div name. However it didnt work just putting the code in the same text widget box.

Hi @froginthevalley I am having this same issue. The website is www.dream-nyc.org. It is a squarespace site, I designed for one of my clients. Their twitter ID is DREAM_NYC. I used their twitter account and added all the domains to the widget, including dream-nyc.org, www.dream-nyc.org, dreamnyc.squarespace.com, and www.dreamnyc.squarespace.com. But it is still not working. All I see on the homepage is Tweets by @DREAM_NYC. Can you please help?

Right now you cannot dynamically generate the Embedded Timeline widgets. You HAVE to go to twitter because they now require you to list the domains the widget will display on and they generate a widget id. It doesn’t work like the old API widget where you could pass in the username and the widget would automatically start pulling that user’s timeline.

I’m in your shoes because I also provided my clients with a form based widget creator within our CMS and now they can’t use it.

The settings for a link to open in a new window vs opening in a tab is client based. You cannot make this choice programatically, even with normal jquery/javascript. Every browser is different and almost every browser allows the user to pick which default behavior they want when a link generating a "popup"is clicked. (tab vs window)

By default, IE opens in a new window and Firefox opens in a new tab, and some other browsers do not even have tabs. If you want to change your settings, here are the steps:

IE (7, 8, and 9):
Tools -> Internet Options -> Tabs -> Settings -> “When a pop-up is encountered”
Select “Always open pop-ups in a new tab”

Firefox:
Tools -> Options -> Tabs
Select “Open new windows in a new tab instead”

There may be newer functions you can use to override these browser settings, but I do not know of any.

Thanks for your reply.

The problem is that I use this widget on a Web App in fullscreen mode on iOS and when I click on a link, I go to Twitter website in fullscreen and there’s no way to come back to my Web App… I must close the Web App and reopen it for return to my App. So I just want to switch on the browser when I click on link inside Twitter hashtag timeline iframe.

For now I don’t find any options in Twitter widget to choice between ‘window.open’ and target=’_blank’…

If someone have an idea, please help me…

I would like to be able to include a keyword or hashtag in an embedded timeline widget, or show only one user’s tweets on a search/hashtag widget. Is this possible?
