Embedded Timelines Questions

In a slim embedded timeline height is not adjusted but stays at 375px in Internet Explorer. Tweets containing images look fine in Chrome and Firefox but in Explorer they are stretched way out of proportion. Unfortunately, IE is still far from an obscure browser so until this is fixed the image previews can’t be turned on our site. Seems like this should be fairly easy to fix in CSS, if one had access to it.

Same issue here, but only in MSIE. It works fine in Chrome and Firefox but unfortunately IE is still far from an obscure browser. Length seems set at a minimum of 375px in IE, making the dimensions all skewed when embedded in a relatively small div. For now, we’ve had to uncheck image previews on our site because of this, hopefully this’ll be fixed soon.

Is there a way to get “All” hashtag tweets to appear. I’ve read many of the earlier pages where that was a common question, beginning way back in the forum topic. I’m trying to set up a “buzz” tracker for a conference hashtag. The widget on the test page basically works, but only shows the “Top” tweets, apparently. That makes it not work for the purpose. http://runeman.org/mcss/index.html

It is embarrassing, a bit. The lead person for the conference is new to Twitter. She has sent tweets with the hashtag #nerc13 and her tweets do show on the main Twitter search (after selecting All). She’s not impressed that they don’t appear on the test page. Not good.

I’m looking to update my site, and some functionality I want to add is the Twitter timeline of an artist on their page on my site. I have their Twitter name in my DB, but I can’t see any way to render the code to display the timeline dynamically. I can’t/won’t manually create widgets for all the contents of my DB, as that’s in the 1000s (although not all with Twitter accounts, obviously). It’s a shame to miss off this obviously useful information.

I’m trying to embed a simple search of username and hashtag “@vernonrive AND #cop18”. Although the search works and shows 2 tweets (https://twitter.com/search?q=%40vernonrive%20AND%20%23cop18&src=savs) when I try to embed it all I get is “Hmm, an empty timeline. That’s weird.”. Any suggestions???

I am developing app for mobile and in the app i’m getting the timelines and display it in table form. Right now i’m using http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=’+screen_name+’&include_rts=true to get the data. But from what i heard, this may not be available starting from march.

Will I still be able to call GET method with above url and get the data for the timeline? If not, how would i get the data from user timelines so that i can display it in table form?

I’m trying to add a timeline widget to my website.
It seems to work in the sense that SOME tweets are displayed but not ALL of them.
ALL tweets are shown in the widget configurator preview, but not when I use the generated code in my web pages.
Any suggestions?

OK after some more digging the problem seems to be that if I click the “check for tweets” button while NOT logged in I get no results for the search. Whereas if I click the button while logged in I get two results as expected. This is weird because those tweets are public and I can see them on the timeline when not logged in?!

I put the embedded timeline with a float:right in the div. Works well except for Safari & Chrome where the Follow button “shifts” out of the timeline container.

I am trying to use the new timeline widget in a section of my site that allows the end user to “flip” through 3 different timelines. On page load I have 3 divs. One is set to display:block and the other 2 are set to display:none. (The current timeline being displayed is set to display:block)

All the timelines load their tweets, however, only the timeline in the div that is set to display:block will properly render the scollbar and the timeline-footer (the bottom gray “Tweet to @…” input box). The divs that were hidden when the page loaded do not display the timeline-footer and their scroll bars get cut off.

There must be a bug related to the timelines being in a display:none div on page load. It seems like the javascript is having issues calculating the hidden div’s heights in this situation.

Well it looks like I can use jquery to help this situation out, but of course the results vary browser to browser.

By setting the height of all 3 of my streams with JQuery I’m able to get the footer to slide up and display.

$("#twitter-widget-1").contents().find(".stream").height(‘367’);
$("#twitter-widget-2").contents().find(".stream").height(‘367’);

note: My widget height is set to 442 and using firebug I was able to see that the one timeline properly showing was setting it’s stream height to 367.

This worked great in Firefox, but seems to be causing mixed results in IE. It’s still rendering too low in IE and I’m noticing other styles that were not properly applied on those hidden divs as well. Hm… back to playing around with some settings I suppose.

This is the same kind of issue I’m having. I’m loading 3 timelines into 3 different divs and then using JQuery Cycle to let the user flip through those divs one at a time. The cycle code uses display:none on all the divs that are hidden so those that are hidden on page load are not styled correct. The footer doesnt’ display, the font is screwy looking, etc.

Anyone find a solution to this?

Its not the domain problem. Works for me directly in a div. But if i try and replace the div I get same issue.

I use subdomains to develop sites locally ( foo.localhost ), is there a way of getting this to work? The widget rejects any localhost variations I try.

I tried searching this thread, but I didn’t really get anywhere.

There’s no way at this time, though I think it’s likely we’ll make this easier to accomplish in non-public domains in the future.
