Embedded Timelines Questions

Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place for this question, but here goes:

This morning we discovered our website was suddenly broken. I believe the problem is isolated to our twitter timeline feed no longer working. No one on are end has changed anything though. So I’m wondering if the URL configuration might have changed for twitter timelines, recently. the URL in our code is:

http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/samysalon.rss

Should that work to pull in the tweets from our timeline?

See [node:10803]. You’re using an outdated and retired endpoint for user timelines. You want to use https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=samysalon

Keep in mind though that v1 of the API is now deprecated and will cease functioning in March 2013. RSS feeds are no longer supported by the API after that date.

I have embedded this widget on a number of pages and can not make the darn thing work. The last page I tried is at http://www.public.asu.edu/~srcrawf2/cpp494-twitter.html

Thank you for your reply! However, replacing the URL you provide with the old one does not solve the problem. The error message has changed from “failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found…” to “failed to open stream: No such file or directory” but still the page is broken.

Do you have any further ideas? Is it possible this change in endpoints for user timelines will require new php coding on our end to continue to stream our tweets to our website?

This is exactly the same problem i am having. When configuring a widget to my user name on the official twitter widget webpage nothing will generate in preview. I have tried other peoples usernames and these work, just not mine.
Can we please have some answers/solutions to this problems. Username = @SuffolkBRC

It used to work with the last few posts and update when I put a new Tweet in, but now only has a link to my Tweets, not what I want at all. I tried several combinations, nothing changed. Have it now what the widget told me to put in there. Still not working. Any ideas?

Is it possible to add the option data-show-count=“true” (like in follow button) to the embedded timeline from an individual user ?

I can’t make this work. When I open the widget throught the browser, works fine, but when I try to open it with the iphone I only see the hyperlink.

Hi,
Im having problems with my twitter widget on my website (http://www.lovestandards.se/) . I cant see my twitter feeds. My sidebar only says “Latest tweets by @lovestandards1” but I cant se my latest tweets!
I havent had any problems with this until about 4days ago when I discovered that all my tweets were gone on the website.
Is there anyone who knows how to fix it? Is it most likely a wordpress or a twitter issue?
I havent been doing any changes in my codes or the widget so I dont know why it suddenly just stopped working?
Thankful for any help.

I saw a solution on the prior page from @codling and it worked for me - so I thought I’d pass it along to you! You have to have your domain listed both with and without the www in the settings section. So www.thiswillwork.com and thiswillwork.com. As soon as I added that - my feed came right back up. Hope it helps ya!

our website lswestonline.com/wordpress launches in 10 days and we had the previous version of this twitter feed where you just created and grabbed the code when I came back to create after loosing it this update was made available how do I add it to my sidebar while it is under construction so we can see it before launching it. or is there a way you can give me the old code. I am familiar with coding and playing with it. We were great fans of the colors and options on the old one

Just installed the new Twitter widget in my sidebar and it’s too wide to fit. I overrode the default settings, but it still won’t fit. (My sidebars are 180 or 200 px and it looks like the minimum width Twitter supports is 220 px?). See: http://www.foodonthefood.com

I don’t want to redesign my web site, but I love having my Twitter feed on the site. Am I SOL? I had an old Twitter widget up there for years that I loved. Can I get it back?
