I see the error “Widget not whitelisted for domain theroverfilm.com” in the javascript console, make sure you add this domain in your settings for your widget, without the www part.

You can uncheck the “expand photo” options on a widget to have images collapsed instead of displyaing by default. You can resize the widget by using height= and width= parameters in your HTML markup for the timeline.

I work at a college where several instructors use Twitter widgets to send class updates, etc. in our learning management system. Unfortunately, the new embedded timelines don’t work in the system - we just get a link to the username on Twitter. Any thoughts?

Ok. I didn’t have a website to test it on so I just signed up for a Tumbler page & was able to install it on there without any problems. The widget showed up correctly & was showing my tweets. I even tested it using the actual “@” username that I wanted to have it for & it worked perfectly fine. So my question is, has anyone had it work successfully in a Facebook fan page yet? If so what did they do to get it to work? What am I to put as the “Domain” name?

When I try it on my facebook fan page in Firefox, when I click on the “Tweets by @” link, it actually doesn’t go back to the twitter page, it just goes to a blank screen & the link is then gone till I refresh the page. When I try it in Internet Explorer 9, it will display the “Tweets by @” link and when I click on the link, it will open up the twitter page in a new window. Any way of anyone else testing this on a FB fan page? Was really hoping to use this widget on my fan page but it looks like I may not be able to. Any chance I can get a link to the old widget & be able to see if that will work? I have spent over 2 days scouring the internet for a solution to this issue without any success. Right now I am extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Thank you for your reply Sylvain. I am surprised by this, is there any way around this issue. A different widget obtainable from somewhere else? It is tricky for me because this feed is different to the one approved by the client. I am sure the previous Twitter widget was editable. I know Wordpress has a stylable version, but the site I am coding is static. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Trying to add the Twitter timeline html code in a text Widget for it to appear on the side of a Wordpress blog. It does not work.

I put the code Twitter gave me:

And when I save it on Wordpress it changes to:

The problem is, that all the tweets of a list member in https://twitter.com/i/#!/FinanzLinks/de-termine don’t appear in the embedded list Tweets von @FinanzLinks/de-termine. In other words: if you compare the embedded tweet list with the origin tweet list, you will miss some tweets. See testpage http://www.finanz-links.de/finanznachrichten/test2.htm

The same: Not all tweets of https://twitter.com/i/#!/FinanzLinksCom/ca-canada-tsx appear in the embedded list (see http://www.finanz-links.de/frames/fr_ausland_amerika_kanada_fr.htm)

The old Twitter widget worked perfectly in Blackboard. The new widget code only produces a link, like many others have described here. This issue affects MANY instructors and I would love to see a fix. Same problem occurs when I paste the code in a Google site.

I am copying the code from twitter, the problem is that site solution only accepts HTML and the code from twitter has some javascript in it so it wont accept the code. I’m a rookie so go easy on me

I’m building a website in Dreamweaver and I want to include the Twitter Timeline Widget. I’m using the code that twitter provided but all I’m getting is hyper link that includes my username(even when I show the page in a browser). Here is the code:

The previous Twitter widget will still work for about 6 months. We are considering other options for the new widget including more customization, but I have no idea if (and when) this would be available.

You need to make sure the widget configuration has the exact same domain as the page it’s on. If you want to enable it for many subdomains, you can use a star for all subdomains: *.example.com

You need to disable the function in wordpress that strips the script tag.
