Embedded timeline widget does not display quoted tweets

When adding a twitter timeline to a website like so:

<a class="twitter-timeline" data-width="290" data-height="360" href="https://twitter.com/bzcentrum">Tweets by bzcentrum</a> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The quoted tweets are not shown.
Example tweet: https://twitter.com/bzcentrum/status/819496650678923264
