Embedded Timeline iframe missing title attribute

Currently, the Embedded Timeline iframe fails to render a title attribute which is necessary for accessibility compliance. The timeline is implemented as follows:

Adjusting the data-aria-polite value does not appear to have in impact on the title attribute.

In a university environment, such as ours, this lack of a proper title attribute has a considerable negative impact on our accessibility compliance audits given the wide distribution of the timeline across our site. We hope that this can be resolved quickly–or that an alternate solution might be presented.

Hi there! The rendered iframe missing title attribute is a Web Accessibility miss on our end. We will be pushing a fix for it in the upcoming week.

Adjust the data-aria-polite attribute in the embed code, however, only changes the aria-live attribute for the live component of the embedded timeline (see doc). It doesn’t set the iframe’s title, but instead overrides the aria-live attribute of the notification element.

Can a fix be put in place for the twitter grid (the Embedded Collection Timeline) iframe to have a title as well? I posted back in March about it Embedded Collection Timeline Missing Title Attribute Thanks!

Hi @anne_holz, thanks for bringing the problem to our attention. We’ll be putting out a fix for that next week. As of now, all the embedded Timeline list views have have title attribute on the iframe. So if you’d like a sooner fix for the accessibility problem, you may also consider switching to the list view.
