Embedded Timeline creating duplicate Website URLs

We have an embedded twitter feed in the sidebar of our blog. Every time we create a new blog post, a duplicated url with twitter in the url is created, thus resulting in duplicate content (which is bad for SEO).

Example:
Blog post URL: http://domain.com/blog-title
Duplicate URL automatically created: http://domain.com/blog-title/www.twitter.com/handlename

How do I fix this?

Thank you!

Hard to know - are you using our embedded timelines from publish.twitter.com? Are you able to provide a link to the site where you’re seeing this behaviour? Also, from your post I’m not quite understanding where this duplicate URL is appearing - inside the embedded timeline?

The embedded twitter timeline is on every blog post. Here is an example of a page: http://shiplps.com/how-machinery-moving-is-a-lot-like-live-theater/

Every page that has the embedded twitter timeline on it is creating a duplicate URL.
For the above URL, this url is created: http://shiplps.com/how-machinery-moving-is-a-lot-like-live-theater/www.twitter.com/shiplps

The problem is that Google and other search engines are seeing those two urls as duplicate content. I am trying to figure out how to stop the duplicated urls from being created for every page that has the embedded twitter feed.

You have extra content inside your WordPress text widget with a relative href.

<p style="font-size: 13px; text-align: center;">Follow <a style="font-size: 13px;" href="www.twitter.com/shiplps">@Shiplps</a> on Twitter</p>

Edit the widget through your WordPress administrative interface and remove the extra markup. If you are using a custom theme widget consider using the embedded profile timeline widget in Twitter’s WordPress plugin.
