Downloading the data from archive missing text in individual tweets?

Hi all,

I have a bot that RTs certain hashtags. When I want to analyze the data (dump tweets.js to csv? many of the Tweets are cut short with this sign"…"

Any idea how can I get the full text and not to run into this problem at all?

(The way I am getting the data is the archive.)

It sounds like the weird symbol is a post-processing error. Can you check the file contents outside of your csv viewer?

If you are seeing truncated Tweets, it’s likely they were from a standard endpoint without using the tweet_mode=extended setting. This parameter must be used in order to get the full text after 140 if it’s a longer Tweet.

When you say ‘the archive’ I’m not sure what you mean, but we do have a Search Tweet FullArchive endpoint that would return the full Tweet text and more metadata than the standard endpoints by default.

@happycamper, Thanks for the answer. What I mean by archive is to “download my twitter data”.

I check the tweet.js, and again I see the text is cut short like this:

Would you mind sharing the full Tweet payload? And what endpoint are you using?

Hey @LeBraat thanks for the answer. I do not know what you mean by full Tweet payload but I am literally downloading my own Twitter data I am not using anything at all and for some reason the “full text” is not complete.

Sorry for the confusion. I was thinking that you were using one of our developer tools to access this data.
