Hi,
We have display related questions/requirements that are a little from different from what Twitter has specified as their display requirements.

We have gone through the display requirements here: Display requirements – Twitter Developers | Twitter Developer Platform

That page specifies that in case our display requirements differ from what is specified, we should get in touch with Twitter Support and thus we are reaching out.

We are trying to display tweets from relevant handles with relevant hashtags and keywords (trading related) on to our organization’s trading platforms , which would be visible to clients when they login. The differences in what has been specified in your policy requirements for display and our present thoughts are the following-

  1. Remove links mentioned in the tweet.
  2. Remove pictures/videos which are part of the tweet.
  3. Have the hashtags be displayed in less prominent colors.

We will of course have the “View on Twitter” link, which clients can click and view the full tweet on Twitter itself.

A mockup of the display that we are planning on has been attached.TweetDisplay

Please let us know if this can be approved. In case we need to make any changes, let us know as well.

Thanks !

I have not spoken with the policy team directly about this question, but for online purposes I would ask why you would remove links and media, since these are part of the original content and intent of the Tweet poster, which is critical to the intent of our policies. I would imagine that colour is a less important issue - BUT again, I am not stating this as fact on behalf of Twitter, nor should this forum discussion ever be taken as approval, these are my “thoughts out loud” - have you raised this via https://help.twitter.com/support/platform already?

Hi @andypiper , thanks for responding.

We would like for the Twitter content to fit well into our current application design patterns and it will be a challenge for us to have varying height sizes of media and thus would like to omit them when displaying them on our platform. However, if one wishes to see the actual tweet , there will be the “view on twitter” link (as twitter suggests).

We understand that this deviates from the policies and thus reaching out as per guidelines specified in Display requirements – Twitter Developers | Twitter Developer Platform (where Twitter asks people to reach out to the policy team through the Policy Support Form, in case of deviations).

I have done the following but am having real difficulty in getting any response from Twitter-

  1. As the guidelines specifies (in case of deviations), I raised cases through Platform , selecting the option “I have an API policy question not covered by these points”.
One was raised on the 12th of Jan and another on 19th of Jan. Though for both of them, I received an autogenerated email saying that most queries would be responded to, within a business day, but I am still awaiting a response. Cases raised 0188061135 and 0188999623.

  2. Towards the end of January, I also posted 2 tweets (my first  ) tagging TwitterDev and TwitterSupport in an attempt, to get some kind of response of the status of those cases, but even there I didn’t get any response.

  3. Finally, I wrote in this forum and yours was the first response on this topic.

Am I missing out something or doing something wrong?

I am not sure how can I get a status of those cases (approved, not approved or partially approved). There is no portal where I can track them . Can you please assist ? I am willing to provide any information that I have not already provided in those cases and in here.

You’re doing the right thing. Thank you for doing it! I’ll see if I am able to check what has happened, no promises but in general no, it should not have taken this long for you to hear back. Thanks.

Thanks a lot @andypiper . It will be great if you can find out something or at least ask the policy team to respond to me about those cases . I’ll wait for a response.

@andypiper : Unfortunately I have not yet received anything yet from Twitter. I am not sure what else I can do. Have you been able to see what happened to those cases (0188061135 and 0188999623) ? I know you mentioned “no promises” but I have really hit a wall here.
I am just looking for a status.
