Date limit on widgets with hashtag search query?

I have two widgets on a site - in one case, the relevant hashtag has not been used since May (it’s associated with a bi-annual meeting) and the widget shows an empty timeline.

In the other case, the relevant hashtag was used around two months ago, and the widget pulls the tweets from that time (Sept. 28 at earliest).

I would like to know if there is a date limit on widget search queries, and if there is, whether it can be configured.

The limit is based on the standard search API, which has a history of 7 days.
