Clarification on image file size limits

Continuing the discussion from Twitter New Photo-Tagging Feature:

The maximum image size should be 5Mb, with up to 4 images attached to a Tweet. What kind of media were you uploading? Was the image attached to a Tweet successfully?

Different size limits apply to GIFs and videos.

I directly uploaded a 10MB jpg photo in my twitter page. It’s posted successfully. I did not use API. Also I notice png seems to be treated differently from jpg.

The API limit is documented (I believe correctly) at 5Mb as the limit for image upload.

I see. Thank you.
