Checking is the account support long video upload using amplify_video category

Hi, there.

I am using Ads Twitter API to upload the promoted video with max duration up to10 min. https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/ads/creatives/overview/promoted-video-overview

Are there some way, how to check, using API, is the current account supports upload long video or doesn’t?

Hi @Vitaliy_Lucky! Do you want to upload videos longer than 10 minutes? Why would you think that some accounts support promoting videos longer than 10 minutes? Because the docs are clear:

The maximum promoted video length currently allowed is 10 mins with a file size of 500MB or less.

It doesn’t say anything about accounts with the capability of promoting videos longer than that - have you seen such a mention anywhere? If not, then I would say there’s no way.

Yes, you are right, but I am going to upload the video shorter than 10 minutes, but longer than 140 seconds.
The issue is: for one Ads account it is allowed, for another isn’t.
And the question is: how to determine, is the upload video longer 140 seconds allowed for the account?

What do you mean that for some ad accounts you cannot upload videos between 140 seconds and 10 minutes? What error do you receive? I expect for it to be possible to upload such videos on any account.

I got exception: Duration 3.minutes+6.seconds+436.milliseconds exceeds max duration of 2.minutes+20.seconds

Section “Video Specs and Format” -> “Does Media Studio have video length and size limits?”
Text: Media Studio supports standard Twitter video length limits. At this time our self-serve advertisers are not able to exceed this length.
Could it be related to the current issue?
Looks like my ads account is self-serve, can I check it using API?

Aren’t you using the chunked media upload endpoints to upload the video?

Can you please post the raw requests you’re making, and the raw response?

Thanks for the question, @Vitaliy_Lucky. Here is some context: Announcement: Uploading long videos.

There are no public APIs to check whether a user has access to uploading long videos (greater than 140 seconds). Some private ones exist, but I do not know how developers get access to them.

So to check the support the long video upload we should start the test upload long video and to check is it failed?
