Changing the Twitter API to only pick up mentions

#1

Hi, I have the following code on my clients website which picks up the lastest status and retweets from their Twitter account and they have asked me to tweak it slightly. They now only want mentions to be displayed and I cannot find the way to do this or if it is at all possible. Has anybody got an idea?

Thanks
Fraser Mathieson

Current code:

<script src="http://www.sportingchanceinitiative.co.uk/app/data/js/blogger.js" type="text/javascript" ></script>
<script src="http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=sciscotland&include_rts=1&callback=twitterCallback2&count=5" type="text/javascript" ></script>

The mentions timeline, at api.twitter.com/1/statuses/mentions.json requires authentication so you can’t use it in a widget quite the same way.

I’m not familiar with the blogger.js widget, but you can use the Search API to search for mentions of a user by making the query their @username. The objects are different than timeline objects, so it’s not likely to work just by replacing your URL with something like http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=%40sciscotland

The Twitter search widget, perhaps helpful, can be found here: https://twitter.com/about/resources/widgets/widget_search

I would like for my list not to show retweets from list members, just their tweets. Is there a way to do that?
