Changes to MoPub SDK-4.9 - IOS

I noticed in the Changelog that support for ‘Save picture’ and ‘save to calendar’ MRAID functionality has been removed.

I’m an ad creator and both ‘save image’ and ‘save to calendar’ are popular features and often requested by my clients.

Does anyone know why they were removed? if the removal temporary or if there some sort of workaround?

Thanks for reaching out to us about this!

We removed these permissions from our SDK because Apple is implementing a new requirement which states that publishers must explain why they are asking for a particular permission in the property list.

Rather than provide an additional step for the integration, MoPub decided to sunset this functionality after we learned that these features were rarely leveraged by DSPs.
