When I test the link http://www.ourkakaako.com/event/rock-the-block-halloween-spooktacular/ in the card validator it displays fine, however when I tweet the link it just displays the url, what am I doing wrong?

Your card shows fine in the final rendered Tweet. It will not show in the web compose window.
