I don’t know why your site isn’t working with Cards, but I suspect it is because the performance is pretty slow - it takes about 12 seconds for the curl command to return data after connecting, where I am.

@arthsim, from NYC I am not able to reach your site via wget. I consistently get the following, which I would assume is what the previewer is receiving.

I’m also constantly getting the message, “Fetching the page failed because the fetcher cannot resolve the address.”, on a sub-domain of cancer.gov, a division site my company hosts.

At first I thought it was something our servers were blocking, however, when I try to test any site with the cancer.gov domain, even ones we don’t host, I still get the message. Any advice or input is appreciated.

I’ve been testing the site for a couple days now and finally got the card to appear in the validator. After the next attempt, the validator can no longer resolve the address again. Why did it work the one time? I don’t understand. It also failed to grab the image the time it did work. I’ve tested and checked the URL of the image several times and it is correct.

There is a timeout in requesting the page. Is there any resource – the images or the page itself – that take a particularly long time to load?

I’m also having this problem! I get the following message when trying to validate a summary card (large image version):

INFO: 6 metatags were found
WARN: Not whitelisted

Plus it does not render a preview but instead says ‘Unable to render Card preview’

The code/tags I’ve used seem correct to me so not sure what’s gone on here. Also not sure how to get whitelisted as there is no button for me to do so like some people seem to get.

In other words, it looks like you have put all the Twitter meta tags inside a keywords meta tag, when they should be standalone tags that don’t have all their content escaped.

If you validate an individual post e.g. http://kattienotperry.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/73-hello-bitches_6.html then you will see the card works fine - you don’t have a card setup on the top-level domain.

Hi andypier. I have the similar problem that “ERROR: Fetching the page failed because the request timed out”. Here is my url http://45.55.16.242:8912/fortwitter.html. this’s just a super simple file for me to do some testing. Could you please check if it is right???

You’ll need a proper DNS name, rather than an IP address, in order for the Cards crawler to work with your site. When I try to hit the URL you’ve provided there, I get a connection refused error anyway.
