Card images not showing for some links

I’m not entirely sure what’s wrong. When I test different links on the card validator, some cards have images, most don’t, but all of them have

INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 30 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
INFO: Card loaded successfully

on the log. I’ve edited the robots.txt to specifically allow Twitterbot to crawl through the site. Still no go on most links.

I’ve just tested both links, and both look good. Could this have been a temporary issue? Let us know if you’re seeing this consistently.

Im having the same issue of my twitter cards image not loading in the validator or in a tweet despite passing validations. Tried with og:image at first then tried with twitter:image but neither works.

Image preview works for the main page but not for the other pages.

Logs:

INFO: Card loaded successfully

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. I just persisted looking for a solution while waiting for the thread to go up, so managed to fix it before that. Seems like it was an issue of image sizes – anything bigger than 5 MB couldn’t be fetched/used.

Hope that helps anyone else having the same problem as I did!

Try adding a protocol (http) to your image URL in the twitter:image tag.
