Can't Verify Phone Number to use the Apps API

I have tried both adding my phone number (where I receive an SMS with a code) as well as doing the manual SMS. It says “Twitter is experiencing problems, please try again later”. This message has been too consistent for too long.

Receiving errors of:
We are unable to register your phone number now. Please try again.

On the web when trying to activate mobile with the correct confirmation code.

Help!

Sorry about this. We had some issues over the past few days around latency registering phone numbers. If you use the last option on the page at http://support.twitter.com/forms/platform our Platform Operations team will be able to help you.
