Can't validate twitter card

#1

Hi,
Every time I try to validate a card for the site http://www.alice-bakery.com/ I get the error “exceeded 15.seconds to pink-floyd while waiting for a response for the request, including retries (if applicable)”.

An example of markup in mi site (I’m using wordpress with JM Twitter Cards by Julien Maury 3.3.7.1) :

Please can somebody help me?

Thanks

Just to follow up: The Twitter Card may still have one or more of the following issues:

The photo Card type is not whitelisted. Please submit for approval via the validator at https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards/validation/validator.

Hi @rchoi when I try to validate the url (http://www.alice-bakery.com/galletas/galleta-detalle-mamis/) and it shows the same error “exceeded 15.seconds to pink-floyd while waiting for a response for the request, including retries (if applicable)”

Hi @KimSoler. One possibility is that your hosting domain is blocking our Twitter IPs. We’ve seen this a few times before. Is your host CDmon?

You can look here for more information, and see if reaching out to your host helps:

https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards/troubleshooting#When_I_validate_I_get_the_message_exceeded_15.seconds_to_pink-floyd_while_waiting_for_a_response_for_the_request_including_retries_if_applicable

#6

Yes, my hosting is CDmon…

#7

Sorry for the trouble. We contacted CDMon and they said they didn’t have anything blocking our access.

One other thought that came up is that you might be running Apache and having your .htaccess blocking us. Is that a remote possibility?

Is anyone else still have issues validating a site hosted on Media Temple? I’ve been trying to validate mine for weeks and keep getting pink-floyd errors…

“exceeded 15.seconds to pink-floyd while waiting for a response for the request, including retries (if applicable)”

@KimSoler,

I was able to see an “Apply button for the first time.” Can you try once more?

Thanks!

Ryan

Just saw progress here: https://dev.twitter.com/discussions/25190

If it’s not working, feel free to tweet @mediatemplehelp

Thank @rchois, I was able too and I have sent the approval request.

Hi again @rchoi, I’ve seen a problem in some cards, for example this url doesn’t show the image http://www.alice-bakery.com/galletas/galleta-papa-noel-y-sus-renos/.
You can see the issue in this tweet: https://twitter.com/AliceBakery_es/status/415479377124524032

We have problems with our sites hosted on CDmon.com, we can not validate cards. The same file hosted at 1 & 1 is successfully validated. Can you help us @rchoi?

File at CDmon:
http://jordipratdesaba.com/test.html
Errors: “Server error, please try again.”, or sometimes: “Fetching the page failed due to an internal error, debugId: 6077574444237-784117”

File at 1&1:
http://biset.es/test.html
No errors

Thanks

Thanks for reaching out!

We’ve had other CDMon customers say they’ve needed to contact their host to enable access. You can read more here about our IPs and ASNUM:

https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards/troubleshooting#When_I_validate_I_get_the_message_exceeded_15.seconds_to_pink-floyd_while_waiting_for_a_response_for_the_request_including_retries_if_applicable

Sorry for the back and forth. I now see the Card showing up when I tweet this:

I hope that’s progress!

When I tweet the new URL you have directly (http://www.alice-bakery.com/galletas/galleta-papa-noel-y-sus-renos/) it shows a card for me.

Can you try deleting that old tweet and re-tweeting it directly? Sometimes a re-tweet with the URL will kick off our fetcher again.

Hey Josh,

I now see tweets w/ Cards showing up.

I don’t see images, but that may be because there’s no twitter:image tag.

Let me know if you need any help with that!
