Can't validate twitter card due to server error?

I’m trying to validate twitter cards for my site. I am using a wordpress plugin called JM Twitter Cards to insert the meta data. I can see the meta data in the source and I have updated robots.txt to allow twitterbot, but I can’t seem to get it to validate. I get the following message:

Fetching the page failed due to an internal error, debugId: 1408737004-271930

I figured it out. I was using a .htaccess blacklist that was blocking twitterbot by ip. Once I removed that it validated fine.
