Can't have domains without extension

I am trying to create a twitter feed for my client, the site is an intranet and the url the client will be using is http://companynameintranet

When I add this to the list of allowed domains for my widget, I get a message saying widget can’t be updated. If I add .co.uk to the end I am able to save and update my but obviously the url isn’t correct.

Is anyone else aware of this issue and know of a work around.

I will be very disappointed if this isn’t possible and it shows a lack of though and consideration by twitter for Intranets.

This is not currently possible at this time, but it’s a common feature request and I wouldn’t be surprised if we better support intranets soon.
