I am unable to edit and save my app. “Invalid website url” message appears as soon as I start typing in Website URL text box. Please review the screenshot for the same and help.

Thanks for reaching out, I have a few follow-up questions here:

  1. What browser are you using?
  2. Have you tried to enter the full URL and pressing save?

Thanks!

  2. Save button remains disabled even after entering full URL. Please review below screenshot for the same and help.

What URL are you attempting to type in?

The website url should be a valid domain name. You can’t put 127.0.0.1 or localhost in the website url field.

I’m seeing the same thing, except I can’t update the callback URLs. This doesn’t happen when you create an app, only when you try to update one.

in the dashboard, “3-legged OAuth: enabled” has to be set in the app: https://developer.twitter.com/en/portal/dashboard then the callback urls can be edited

Yes it is enabled otherwise you don’t have the input fields available to edit them.

Anyone? This bug renders the developer portal unusable for me.

Oh, could this be a bug in the web interface maybe? Is it the same with a different browser? what url are you trying to set?

Figured it out!

It is a bug with the web interface. The issue is that when you edit the settings for a second time, the field “Website URL (required)” becomes required, but gives you no error message feedback to tell you why it’s not letting you save. It’s confusing because when you create the app and save these settings the first time that field is not required.

Can Twitter folks please confirm if this is by design or a bug?
